✨ The State of Your Tech Career is NOT a Reflection of the Global Pandemic
“I could be making more money, but not right now, during this global pandemic.”
“I could go for that promotion, but not right now when the economy is in the tank.”
“I could go on the job market to land a better job, but not right now when everyone is in panic mode.”
I’ve been hearing a lot of the above lately. And I understand 100%. These are tough times we’re living in.
I want to save you some aggravation by reminding you of a myth and the truth so you can move forward in upgrading your career — and your life — from a place of clarity and intelligence.
Myth: Your tech career is a reflection of external circumstances — like the global pandemic, a tanking economy, ageism/sexism/racism, a culture of fear & worry, or anything else outside of your control.
It’s a myth, folks! It’s simply NOT🙅 true. It’s YOUR career.
The TRUTH is: Your tech career is a reflection of YOUR identity, your decisions, and your actions.
I’ll give you a moment to let that sink in.
And here’s the empowering side of this truth: You created your tech career. So if you want to change it, you get to change it! 🤯
Even in the face of a world that’s going crazy about vaccines & unemployment amidst the presence of a super-bad transmittable contagious awful virus!
And before they worked with us, many of our clients lived in “the world controls my career” too.
They were on the hamster wheel 🐹 and didn’t even realize it.
They were reacting to what was going on at work instead of being proactive. They were hoping — maybe — a new job opportunity would fall into their laps.
They believed that if they just succumbed to the fact that external circumstances control their careers…then they would eventually get a 25% raise and a promotion to VP.
It would just ✨magically✨ happen, right?
In the face of the truth, I know you see how ridiculous this seems now — but don’t sweat it.
We’re all human. We all occasionally fall victim to external circumstances.
But if you want to reach the next level in your tech career…
You have to realize that you’re the driver, 🙅not the passenger.
You’re the player, ♟not the pawn. You’re the leader NOT the follower!
Because if you don’t take control of your career, you’re rolling the dice and building a house of cards. You’re crossing your fingers and hoping that you’ll have enough for retirement. You’re leaving your impact — and your paychecks — to the whims of chance.
I know you don’t want to do that.
So, if you’re ready to embrace the empowering truth that YOU are in control of your career through your actions and decisions…
It’s time to take action. It’s time to BUILD your future career instead of letting it happen in a haphazard, unpredictable, and unstable way.
Your next action is simple —watch the training!
